This past January, a local construction and land development company called Paragon Construction updated their safety reporting and training process to provide its employees and supervisors with improved access to worksite checklists and safety training resources through their own private Android app.
Rather than receiving a stack of paperwork from each job, the safety manager has real-time and remote access to all of the company’s worksite reports through the app. When reports are submitted, they appear on a map so that the safety manager knows immediately where to go if a dangerous situation presents itself. Construction project supervisors complete safety checklists and accident reports through the app without having to submit a physical copy.
The app was developed by netGALAXY Studios, a mobile app development company located in Charleston, and is currently installed on eight android tablets that Paragon’s supervisors use on job sites. In the future, the company plans to keep the app private and hopes to add more features that further promote safe practices on construction sites.
