In a mobile-centric media world, desktop got a confidence vote with the advent of a Web browser version of popular newsreader app Flipboard. Originally designed for tablets, 70% of Flipboard’s user activity is now coming through smartphones, and the company hopes to lure more users, especially during peak PC workday hours to the app, which optimizes to different PC screen sizes.
