Google is moving boldly to play a larger role in booking hotel rooms by adding more photos and reviews to its hotel listings, so they increasingly resemble those of travel search sites, some of Google’s biggest advertisers. The idea, The Wall Street Journal reports, is to encourage travelers to plan more on Google, which opens up sources of revenue. Travel and tourism spending in the U.S. totaled $450 billion last year.
