Podcasts are soaring in popularity, reaching 65 million unique listeners last month according to RawVoice, but there’s a problem in tracking that growing audience. Apple is a huge driver of podcast activity, but it provides only limited data to podcast publishers and producers, Eric Blattberg reports. Many podcasts don’t even have any analytics altogether. That lack of metrics may be part of the reason that larger advertisers are still staying away from the form.
