Mario Garcia says newsrooms now need a mobile editor “as a sort of traffic cop” to guide content from a tweet to all of its multimedia possibilities. The New York Times, The Guardian and the Financial Times are a number of organizations that already have one, and Garcia says the position needs to be more widespread, permanent and powerful in newsroom hierarchies as mobile audience growth climbs upwards of 50% still.
